In her time in Israel & India, Salome has been very active in using choral singing as a tool for cross community co-existence work, as well as for social outreach and education. As a conductor, it remains especially important to her, to curate or program meaningful and relevant performances which encourage community-building and tolerance.

inter-community concerts with Israelis, Palestinians and Armenians
Honorary co-director & conductor (2016 - 2018) of the 'Christmas Eve' concert hosted by the Jerusalem International YMCA. A unique event in West Jerusalem, this concert is annually attended by people of all faiths, coming together in the spirit of Christmas.

Mass for Peace
Conductor & Musical Director:
This gala concert was carefully curated with special permission from the composer, to be premiered in Jerusalem. The concert featured soloists from three Abrahamic faiths.

Protest Concert for the Jerusalem Contemporary Arts Festival 'Manofim'
After the original closing ceremony of the Manofim Festival in 2016 was violently disrupted by extremists, this concert was programmed to support and encourage the voices that were silenced.

Women Wage Peace
mass-singing event for World Peace Day 2018
The Israeli grassroots peace movement Women Wage Peace held a nation-wide march for peace in Sept. 2018, culminating in a mass (crowd) - singing event with 2000 people in central Jerusalem. Led the crowd-singing, with the chosen song We shall overcome.

intensive Workshop-Retreat for the Jerusalem Youth Chorus
The JYC is a choral and dialogue program for Palestinian and Israeli youth. A staunch supporter of the group, Salome led an intensive 3-day singing and choral workshop in 2016, with a focus on breath work, sharing equal responsibility and becoming active singers, through the use of the Anuna choir method.

Teacher Training Workshops for the Israeli Ministry of Education
An official workshop-series in choir conducting given to music teachers in the schools of Jerusalem, culminating in the annual gala Jerusalem Children's Choir Convention (2016, 2017)

public-school Children's Choir Program
Pali Chimbai Municial School, Mumbai
Through the support of the Mehli Mehta Music Foundation and Aseema, 2 choirs were founded in a government school for children from lower socio-economic backgrounds. Through the framework of the program, the choirs met on a weekly basis and learned songs in various languages. The program has been resumed in 2022 with local conductors in Mumbai.

Conductor's Training workshop for Songbound
Songbound is an outreach initiative which brings the transformative power of music to some of India’s poorest and most marginalized children. They have a dedicated team of conductors and choir managers who attended this 1-day intensive workshop.
